A score should be the end of the explanation—not the start.

Our process combines repeatable checks with an editor's judgment about who a game serves best.

Our review cycle

We begin with a clean browser session and record how quickly a new player can reach meaningful play. We then test a representative early session, revisit the game after progression systems appear, and compare desktop and mobile behavior where both are supported.

Selection

A game can enter consideration through editorial research, reader suggestions or a developer submission. The source of a suggestion does not influence the score.

Hands-on checks

We check loading behavior, controls, readable text, audio settings, interruptions, account requirements and the clarity of any optional purchases. We also note whether a short session feels complete.

Scoring and recommendation

The weighted score is a summary, not a verdict. Every published pick also identifies a best-fit player and at least one limitation. Scores are rounded to one decimal place and may change after a substantial game update.

External platforms

We do not control third-party games or hosting platforms. Availability, advertising and commercial terms can change after review. Readers should consult the destination platform's current policies.
